God, in his infinite mercy, created young children with a need for naps. I heartily believe it is so we can continue to
like our children, especially the ones who have spent their mornings screaming at us. Therefore, when one of these screaming children refuses to take a nap, or only sleeps for 10 minutes, it's understandable that his mother wishes to run out the front door screaming. Right?

Trust me, the feeling's mutual. |
Right! Hang in there, it does get better. :-).
ReplyDeleteYES. :D
ReplyDeleteYesterday, the toddler screamed from her crib instead of napping. This, on top of two sick kids and the big girl pulling attitude regarding homework. If today doesn't get any better, I'm locking myself in a closet with a bag of Doves. That'll learn 'em.
Wing It Mom- Yeah, it's certainly better than it was when he was first born. I keep hoping that 18 months is magical.
ReplyDeleteGauntlets- If today's no better for me, I might join you in that closet.
I gated my kids into the basement with a baby gate they can't open (the finished basement is a playroom :) and then hid on a couch out of sight with an ice cream bar. hehe.
ReplyDeleteLeah ~ My niece, mother of a 1 yr-old and a 4 yr-old, one day posted that she was thinking, "Wouldn't it be nice to have another baby?" The very next day, when neither child would sleep, she told about putting them into the car and driving for 2 hours! This is life! My mother used to tell me that one day I would look back and laugh . . . yes, for some experiences, but not all of them!
