Why I make my bed

Because you never know when the tax assessor is going to stop by and want to do a room-by-room evaluation of the structural integrity of your house.

It's also just reasoning for keeping the laundry hampers from overflowing, and ensuring that whatever your kid dug out from the bathroom cupboards, was, indeed, returned to the bathroom cupboards.

  1. Wow, good for you! I can remember many occassions where I have thought 'Wow, I wish I had gotten around to doing that!'. I cannot, however, remember even one time when I wished I hadn't done something- other than to wish that i had spent more time that day with my kids. In that spirit, I am off to go switch the laundry, finish the dishes from lunch and read a book to my preschooler. Happy cleaning!

  2. This is why I require 24 hours notice from all guests. Or people stopping by. Or...yeah, I live in a dream world. ;-)

  3. WIM- Agreed!

Rachel- Wouldn't it be nice if that was enforceable?

  5. Kristen- Ironically, the day the tax assessor came is the day I hadn't quite gotten around to making my bed. It's also the day I had to shove back in the bathroom cupboard what it was my kid dug out.

  6. I got an insurance assessment notice yesterday (very vague: "next 40 days") I almost freaked, but then noticed it was just assessing property outside. Who cares about that unturned "compost" pile?
